Honor your loved ones with VNA Light Up a Life
|
To help honor your loved ones’ memories or those who have made a positive impact, VNA offers a special way to pay tribute on the Light Up a Life Holiday Tree displayed in the community.
With a suggested gift of $10 or more, a personalized dove with the name of each life you wish to honor or remember will be placed on one of the community trees. Your gift to the annual Light Up a Life program for VNA Hospice Care will ensure VNA can continue to provide compassionate end-of-life care for patients, caregivers, and loved ones-no matter their ability to pay.

YOU Put the Power in Pie!

The Power of Pie event was a great success this year, with more than 1,200 pies and loaves of bread enjoyed during the Thanksgiving season. The event raised more than $86,000 to support our Meals on Wheels and Hospice and Supportive Palliative Care programs.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous friends and partners, including Knife, Central Market, Empire Baking, Ventura Foods, Uncle Willie’s Pies, Sugar and Sage, Brook Hollow Golf Club, Northwood Club, Top Golf, CTI Foods, Crown Block, and Trio Community Meals, for their delicious donations!
A special thank you goes to our presenting sponsor, Interabang Books, as well as to our sponsors: Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, The Jerry R. Junkins Family Foundation, Eiseman Jewels, Texas Instruments, Canary, and MaryBeth Boutique.
We are also deeply appreciative of our committee members, Sally Dutter, Kiersten Kerrigan, Christi Morrow, and Denice Swift, along with all the volunteers whose hard work and dedication make this event possible. Thank you!

A Message From Katherine Krause
|
On Thanksgiving morning, more than 900 volunteers and VNA team members delivered hot meals and friendly holiday wishes to more than 5,000 homebound seniors and disabled adults throughout Dallas County.
Beginning at 5:30 a.m., the kitchen staff began chopping hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables and prepared more than 800 pounds of turkey breast for clients to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The team also prepared 850 pounds of cornbread dressing, gallons of hot gravy, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie parfait! In addition to the festive meal, every client received a bag of fresh fruit.
It is so uplifting to see the generous spirit of so many volunteers who brighten the lives of our homebound senior neighbors. Having volunteers come together to begin their Thanksgiving Day serving others by delivering a hot holiday meal and a friendly visit, says a lot about the caring nature of our community.
Special thanks to the following groups for helping to organize this Thanksgiving Day delivery event: Administration for Children and Families; Bank of America IDP; Citi; City of Grand Prairie; Dallas Sai Center; Douglas Elliman Real Estate; Greystar; Highland Park United Methodist Church; Holy Spirit Catholic Church; Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas; Keystone Church; King of Glory Lutheran Church; New Life in Christ Lutheran Church; Park Cities Rotary Club; Plano Amateur Radio Club; Plymouth Park Baptist Church; The Senior Source Senior Companion Program; Saint Joseph Catholic Church; Saint Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church; Temple Emanu-El; Toyota; United Healthcare; United MegaCare; VNA Staff; VNA Teen Board; and VoYagers.

Mockingbird Lane, Dallas. To reserve your route, please reach out to Mercedes Aguero at aguerom@vnatexas.org for more information.
