VNA Hospice Care: Setting the Highest Standard with 4-Star Rating & CHAP Accreditation

VNA Hospice Care remains the most experienced hospice care provider in Texas and serves patients across 16 counties. Our hospice care team focuses on helping our patients live life to its fullest with dignity, care, and respect. Our expert, compassionate clinical team’s commitment to the highest quality of care is reflected in a recent Four Star rating from Medicare and renewed CHAP accreditation.

VNA has been Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) accredited since 2010. All hospice organizations are required to meet state and federal regulations in order to operate. However, obtaining CHAP accreditation requires meeting higher standards of care and going above and beyond Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines. VNA was recently audited by CHAP (standard for all CHAP-accredited agencies) and was found to have no deficiencies.

This distinctive CHAP Accreditation demonstrates VNA meets the industry’s highest nationally recognized Hospice standards. The rigorous evaluation by CHAP focuses on structure and function, quality of services and products, human and financial resources and long-term viability. Adherence to CHAP’s Standards leads to better quality care.

We are also proud to announce that our Children’s Haven pediatric hospice program has also received this distinguished and rare accreditation for caring for seriously ill children from birth to 21.  VNA remains committed to providing the highest quality of care for our community.

Additionally, Care Compare Reports are provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), where VNA Hospice has received a Four-Star rating. They provide information about health care programs across the nation, allowing patients, family members and health care providers to get a snapshot of the quality of care. Hospice care examples include the thoroughness of each hospice’s assessment of the patient, including the extent to which the hospice has asked the patient about the severity of his/her pain and the extent to which he/she exhibits shortness of breath. Care Compare also measures the extent to which the hospice makes a comprehensive assessment of a patient’s treatment preferences.  You can learn more here.  These official datasets are used on the Medicare.gov Care Compare Website provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
