VNA partners with Concord Church in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

VNA Meals on Wheels is grateful for the 13th year partnering with Concord Church for this special day of service in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  More than 500 volunteers chose a “day on” on their day off to deliver joy to Dallas County seniors.

Special thanks to the community groups helping to make this event possible: Concord Church, Jack & Jill SW Suburban Dallas Chapter, St. Monica School 7th Grade, The Haitian Social Circle in Dallas, St. Paul United Methodist Women of Faith, Project Unity, Zeta Phi Beta, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Dorcas Grand Chapter of Texas Eastern Star Volunteers, Northridge Presbyterian Church, and St. Mark’s School of Texas.

VNA engages volunteers throughout the community year-round to deliver Meals on Wheels and visit hospice patients near the end of life. Last year, more than 5,000 volunteers delivered more than one million home-delivered meals to seniors in Dallas County. If you’d like to brighten a senior’s day, visit https://volunteer.vnatexas.org to learn more about how you can volunteer to make a difference. Every Meals on Wheels route delivered by a volunteer saves VNA enough money to feed a senior for an entire week.
