Who We Are
personalized options for in-home care
As the population continues to grow older, more and more people find themselves needing to provide additional care for an aging loved one. As they do, they often seek out alternatives to the traditional nursing home, opting instead to find a way to provide care for their senior in the comfort and familiarity of their own home.
This kind of private nursing care, such as that offered by VNA Private Care, has been growing across the United States.
When Bob Stegall, husband of VNA Board of Directors Vice Chairman Janet Ryan, needed to provide extra care for his aging father, VNA Private Care was where he turned.
“I chose VNA Private Care because I was familiar with VNA Meals on Wheels,” Bob said. “I had run routes for them. I was really impressed with their charter and their mission for the homebound. When I thought I needed Private Care, that was the first thing I thought of. I love VNA Meals on Wheels, let’s try their Private Care.”
Bob soon discovered he had made the best choice for his father’s situation. VNA Private Care services are personalized to meet the patient’s needs, whether it’s for six hours a day or 24 hours a day, and the relationship between his father and the VNA Private Care nurse proved one of the best parts of the exceptional care he received.
“The VNA Private Care nurse was always there,” Bob said. “She would always tell me if maybe this wasn’t quite right or maybe he needed a little more of this. She helped socialize him and keep him engaged. She was the consistent thread that made him happy. It’s hard to explain, but they had a very, very special bond.”
As an alternative to nursing homes and extended hospital stays, VNA Private Care empowers individuals to age, or recover from an injury or illness, where they are most comfortable – at home. As a nonprofit organization, VNA’s bottom line is patient care and through our personal care services like bathing assistance, meal preparation, dementia care, companionship, housekeeping and transportation, the VNA staff is there to help. Rates are reasonable, scheduling is flexible and as always VNA caregivers are held to the highest standards.
