FAQ: Meals on Wheels
Got a question? We've got an answer!
Prospective VNA Meals on Wheels clients must be either elderly (age 60 or older) or disabled, and reside in Dallas County. There are several funding sources for VNA Meals on Wheels that have additional eligibility requirements. When a referral is made to VNA, our Case Coordinator will determine the funding source most likely to fit the prospective client. Click here to apply. Contact April Burns at (214) 689-2268 or email@example.com for more information.
Q: My mother doesn't live in Dallas County. Can you connect me with the Meals on Wheels where she lives?
Yes. You can view the list of Meals on Wheels providers listed at the bottom of our Get Assistance page or contact VNA at (214) 689-2268 or firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance connecting with other home delivered meals programs in North Texas. For other areas, you can search for your local program by zip code through the Meals on Wheels Association of America at www.mowaa.org.
Due to funding regulations, VNA cannot accept donated food. We can accept other in-kind donations to support our clients' quality of life, including box fans, blankets, and space heaters.
VNA delivers on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day mornings and is closed only a few days during the year - New Year's Day, Volunteer Appreciation Event Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Day after Thanksgiving. A shelf stable meal is sent to all clients a few days before each of these holidays so they will have something for lunch on those days. Learn more...
